I managed to meet all three optional parts of the challenge! I cut a circle with a die from a thin piece of cardstock (to minimize halo's around the circle mask). This circle was taped with repositionable glue to the card front so when I stamped the background stamp on the card front, it would remain white. The 2005 Stampin' Up! (SU) "Floral"background is stamped on the thick white cardstock using SU Soft Sea Foam ink.
I used a stamp positioner so that I could stamp the light green ink several times to get the shade I wanted.
Leaving the circle mask in place, I used the stamp positioner again to stamp a brown horizontal line across the card (per the sketch). Then hand filled it in with a brown marker so it looked like ribbon.
Next, after removing the circle mask, I taped (with painter's tape) circle dies turned upside down centered on the uninked area Using a brown and a green marker, I drew a circle around each die to frame the area - the masking technique often leaves a ragged edge, so this dresses it up.
In the center of the circle I stamped a wedding cake, and the sentiment from the SU "Piece of Cake" set using SU Early Espresso ink. I hand colored the flowers and leaves using Copic Markers. Then put an SU rhinestone in the center of the pink "daisies".
I think this will make a nice wedding card for non-immediate family/friends. I an rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because of the masking and hand coloring.
